Prospective Graduate Students

I am currently recruiting M.S. and Ph.D. students interested in research related to:

  • Winter storms and precipitation processes

  • Mesoscale and cloud-scale dynamics

  • Radar and satellite meteorology

  • Numerical modeling, data analysis, and field observations

Students with backgrounds in meteorology, atmospheric science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or related fields are encouraged to inquire.

Graduate students in the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University benefit from close faculty mentoring, strong departmental support, and opportunities to engage in research that connects theory, observations, and real-world weather systems.

If you are interested in working with me, I strongly encourage you to email me before or during the application process so we can discuss research interests and potential opportunities.

Prospective Undergraduate Students – Research Opportunities

I actively encourage undergraduate students to become involved in research through:

  • Independent study projects

  • Senior thesis research

  • Mentored research experiences connected to ongoing projects

Research involvement is an excellent way to deepen your understanding of meteorology, build technical skills, and prepare for graduate school or careers in the atmospheric sciences. Prior research experience is not required. Curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn are most important.

If you are an undergraduate student interested in meteorology, research, or graduate school, feel free to reach out to discuss potential opportunities.

Collaborators

I welcome collaborations with colleagues and researchers interested in precipitation processes, winter weather, mesoscale dynamics, and observational or modeling studies. If you are interested in discussing potential collaborations, data analysis, or joint proposals, I would be happy to connect.

How to Get in Touch

If you are interested in joining the group or collaborating, please send me an email with:

  • A brief description of your interests

  • Your background or current role

We can then set up a meeting to talk more about potential opportunities.
